Greece - Anarchist gangs in Athens went on a rampage, staging five arson attacks in two and a half hours. An automobile belonging to the Church of Greece was among the targets destroyed. They also attacked a pair of police officers and disarmed them. Acting on a tip, police raided an apartment, but it had been vacated prior to their arrival. They did recover a police officer's service revolver. At the same time, anarchists in Thessaloniki burned two Eurobank branches. Anarchist "arson gangs" are very active in both cities, where they frequently attack the police, banks, and other symbols of the state and capitalism.
